If you've ever moved into a new home that has lots of areas covered in Artex, don't despair, as this is much easier to plaster over than trying to remove, potentially damaging the surface underneath. There are several options open to you with ceilings. Firstly, is it too high? If you wish to lower the ceiling and create a false ceiling, this may also be a good time to look at changing your lighting arrange for a more modern look. The space above the beams will also act as insulation and help to reduce noise and heat loss. Once the woodwork has been set up, it's time to add the plasterboard and arrange the electrics.
